As he now completes a term on the Frederick County Board of County Commissioners, I am convinced that a strong majority of the Frederick County business community supports Kai Hagen for County Commissioner even more than four years ago. As a Frederick County business owner, I have come to the conclusion that Commissioner Hagen would continue to be very good for business and that any return to a pro-sprawl Board would be just as bad for business as it would be for the rest of the county.

My firm, Michael Strategic Analysis, relocated here in 2004 and would not have considered moving to Frederick County if it even remotely resembled Montgomery County or any of the rest of the ugly DC-Baltimore suburban sprawl. Our firm’s outlook on this is not unique; when employers look to start up or move, a location’s quality of life for their employees and their families is at or near the top of the list among their decision criteria.

Excessive, dense, poorly located growth is bad for all of Frederick County including local businesses. Growth will happen but there is no reason it has to happen any faster than you, I and other voters of Frederick County think is healthy and in our interests. In the 2010 election, you and I need to keep Kai Hagen and put other moderate new faces on the Board of County Commissioners to insure that we stay Frederick County and do not become Montgomery County-North. Kai Hagen is a thoughtful moderate when it comes to growth, and will continue to strive for the right quantity and quality of growth for Frederick County.

Join me and hundreds of other Frederick County business owners to keep Kai on the Board of County Commissioners this November.
